According to a four-year scientific study by the Natural Resources Defense Council, bottled water sold in the U.S. is not necessarily cleaner or safer than most tap water.

Bottled water is tested less frequently than tap water for bacteria and chemical contaminants.

Any bottled water sold strictly within state borders is not subject to regulation by the Food and Drug Administration!

There is clear prohibition under EPA rules against any confirmed E. Coli or fecal coliform bacteria in tap water. FDA has adopted no such prohibition for bottled water.
